Welcome to the Edmonton International Folk Dancers! We are a recreational folk dance group that has been meeting and dancing in Edmonton for 40 years. Our membership includes beginner to advanced dancers and covers a diverse age range. No partner is necessary! We meet weekly to learn dances from a wide variety of cultures and countries including Bulgaria, France, Armenia, Greece, Romania, Israel, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Turkey, England, Portugal and many, many more. Dances are taught by local teachers who have learned and taught throughout North America and in Europe. Special events throughout the year include parties at Christmas and at the end of the year, guest instructors, workshops and summer gatherings. Folk dance groups are active in most major cities in Canada, the United States and throughout Europe and Japan. Members in our club learn dances they can enjoy with groups in any of these places.
